Defined the vertical-slice scope and success criteria for gameplay, visuals, and review milestones.
Cross-Team Vertical Slice Production
A small playable vertical-slice project coordinating environment goals, milestone scope, and presentation quality for a portfolio-ready delivery.
项目背景
This vertical slice was framed as a production-focused portfolio case. The aim was to show not only environment quality, but also decision-making around scope, review cadence, and delivery readiness.
设计思路
The core principle was clarity over breadth. Rather than expanding the project with too many ideas, I defined one polished slice with a tight set of environment, gameplay, and presentation goals that could realistically ship as a showcase piece.
制作流程
Built a playable greybox to validate layout, timing, and route logic early.
Ran focused iteration passes on environment polish, readability, and presentation quality.
Packaged the slice for review with stable screenshots, walkthrough material, and a clear final pass.
难点
The main challenge was resisting scope creep. Once the slice started looking good, it became easy to add more content instead of improving the clarity and finish of what already worked.
解决方案
I used milestone-based review gates and tied every addition back to the original showcase goal. If a task did not improve clarity, playability, or presentation, it was cut from the slice.
最终效果
The final piece demonstrates not just environment execution, but also a production mindset: focused scope, consistent review rhythm, and a deliverable that communicates quality clearly in a portfolio context.
